"Rosneft” began geological research in the Barents and the Pechora Sea.
OJSC “OC Rosneft” entered upon the field works at five licensed areas of the Barents and Pechora Sea: Western Prinovozemelskiy, situated in the north-eastern part of the Barents Sea near the arch of Novaya Zemlya, Perseevskiy in the north-western part of the Barents Sea as well as at the licensed areas South-Russian, South Prinovozemelskiy and Western Matveevskiy in the Pechora Sea.
The following research are to be held at these areas:
- Western Prinovozemelskiy – seismic works 3D in volume of 2800 sq.km;
- Perseevskiy – seismic works 2D in volume of 6500 lin km;
- South Prinovozemelskiy – seismic works 2D in volume of 2000 lin km.;
- Western Matveevskiy – seismic works 2D in volume of 2000 lin km.
Seismic works will be held from the specialized science-research vessel alongside with the gravity magnetic survey. Three seismic parties will execute all works.
The specialized affiliate of OJSC “OC Rosneft” – “RN – Shelf – Arctic” organizes geological research on the shelf of the Barents and Pechora Sea.
Recoverable resources of the Western Prinovozemelskiy area (OJSC “OC Rosneft” estimation) – oil and gas condensate – 1434 billion of tons, gas – 1893 billion cubic meters
Recoverable resources of the Perseevskiy area (OJSC “OC Rosneft” estimation) - oil and g/c – 85 million of tons, gas – 92 billion of cubic meters.
Recoverable resources of the South-Russian area (OJSC “OC Rosneft” estimation) - oil and g/c – 270 million of tons, gas – 64,1 billion of cubic meters.
Recoverable resources of the South Prinovozemelskiy area (OJSC “OC Rosneft” estimation) - oil and g/c – 76,8 million of tons, gas – 30,7 billion of cubic meters.
Recoverable resources of the Western Matveevskiy area (OJSC “OC Rosneft” estimation) - oil – 97 million of tons.
