Igor Sechin made a report at the round table about research in the Arctic under the guiding of the President of RF.
On the 5th of June in Saint Petersburg, President and Chairperson of the board of OJSC “OC Rosneft” Igor Sechin took part at the session of the round table with experts of science and business on the issue “Efficient and safe research of the Arctic”. The President of RF- Vladimir Putin guided the session. In the focus of the discussion questions of science service by development of the Arctic and ecological safety by execution of shelf projects were.
Igor Sechin made a report and marked, that geological data show 20% of the world oil is in the Artic. He reminded that the Company’s investments are over 400 billion dollars during 20 years. Igor Sechin stated that multiplying effect would be 7 times higher, so research in the Arctic will be able to become a locomotive of the economic development of the country.
Igor Sechin also said that “Rosneft” is planning to produce machinery and equipment using facilities in Russia. First of all, it is the ship-building cluster “Far East centre of ship-building and ship-repair” in Primorye. It is to become the united ground for order placement of Russian companies for shipbuilding and marine machinery for prospecting, exploitation and transportation of hydrocarbons from the shelf.
